Walk to School Day is Thursday October 6
Healthy Lifestyles and Environment Committees invite you to celebrate International Walk to School
Day on Thursday, October 6th. Put on your sneakers, get a walking buddy, and walk up to the school kiosk area between 7:15 and 7:40 a.m. We will have special guest walkers along the way from Centennial High School, plus RUFUS the recycle dog to greet you. A light snack, small prize, and entry ticket for larger prizes will be given to all walker and bike riders. Last month we had a whopping 234 participants; let's see if we can hit 300+ this month! Special thanks to this month's sponsors - Chick-Fil-A (Preston and 121), Einsteins Bagels, and Frisco Sports.
Join the Curtsinger PTA as we Sail into a New Year
Partnerships between parents, educators, and children enhance children’s success. We know that children learn more and have better lives when everyone in the school community works together to share thoughts and information and work on projects to benefit our children. The Curtsinger PTA looks forward to sponsoring many educational and fun programs throughout the year that will benefit the children at our school. We can do this with your support.

Nomination Elections
Dear Curtsinger PTA Parents,
It’s hard to believe that it is already time to start thinking about your PTA Board elections. There is a process in place and I wanted to let you know how the elections work and how you can get involved.
What does a PTA do?
|
PTA Organizations support and speak on behalf of children in the schools, in the community and for Government groups and other organizations that make decisions affecting children. They help parents develop the skills to raise and protect their children and they encourage parent and public involvement in public schools across the country. Activities varies from group to group but you can probably be expected to be involved with fund raising. |
|
At meetings members bring up things the school needs help buying from art supplies, computers and aside how to raise funds from events such as our annual chili challenge and fun run.
PTA is often called in to help manage and promote this type of event that offers students reasonably priced books, stock classrooms, libraries and raise money for the school.
