We believe, like “Rachel’s Challenge,” that small acts of kindness and compassion can influence global change. The students and staff at Curtsinger Elementary embrace this belief and have truly ignited a chain reaction of kindness and compassion by contributing “Change to make a Change!” to help the people of Haiti rebuild after the devastating earthquake. Students, families, and staff were asked to bring change to fill their “Helping Hands for Haiti”
classroom piggy banks. Kids were able to see how their coins combined could really add up! We are proud to say that Curtsinger raised $3,000.00 dollars and one hundred per cent of the donations are going directly to Haiti through The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.
A big thank you goes to Capitol One Bank, and their branch manager Tim Connell, for helping us count the change, print the cashier’s check, and adding an additional donation bringing our donation to an even $3,000.00 dollar grand
total!
“I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion, then it will start a chain reaction of the same. People
will never know how far a little kindness can go.”
