Walk to School Day is Thursday October 6

Healthy Lifestyles and Environment Committees invite you to celebrate International Walk to Schoolimages Day on Thursday, October 6th.  Put on your sneakers, get a walking buddy, and walk up to the school kiosk area between 7:15 and 7:40 a.m.  We will have special guest walkers along the way from Centennial High School, plus RUFUS the recycle dog to greet you.  A light snack, small prize, and entry ticket for larger prizes will be given to all walker and bike riders.  Last month we had a whopping 234 participants; let's see if we can hit 300+ this month!  Special thanks to this month's sponsors - Chick-Fil-A (Preston and 121), Einsteins Bagels, and Frisco Sports.

Environment Committee

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Environment Committee is to promote environmental awareness initiatives that unite parents, students, teachers and campus administrators in an effort to protect children and their environment.

What We Do

Some specific things that we do here at Curtsinger are:

  • Support our Green Team (4th and 5th graders) and City of Frisco on-site recycling program
  • Promote special recycling opportunities held throughout the school year (Texas Recycles Day and Clean It and Green It)
  • Sponsor environmental awareness through Walk to School Days and Earth Day activities
  • Beautification/planting projects on our campus grounds

Volunteers Welcome!

If you would like to volunteer for any of the events listed above, we'd love to have your help!  We definitely could use a couple helpers on Walk to School Day on October 6, 2011.  Please contact Gretchen Day at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
