Curtsinger PTA

Partnerships between parents, educators, and children enhance children’s success. We know that children learn more and have better lives when everyone in the school community works together to share thoughts and information and work on projects to benefit our children. The Curtsinger PTA looks forward to sponsoring many educational and fun programs throughout the year that will benefit the children at our school. We can do this with your support.

Our PTA hosts many programs throughout the school year including educational programs during the day for the entire school and some for specific grades. Last year, Diversibilities Day was a huge hit as was Dennis Lee and the Funky Monkey Bunch, our Healthy Lifestyles Night, Curtsinger READS! Night, Talent Show, spring dance, authors who spoke to every grade about how to write and illustrate a book, professional bike riders who teach about not using drugs, among others. Our programing was as strong as it has ever been and we are looking forward to another banner year.

Last year--for the first time ever--we were proud to sponsor classroom t-shirts for every student and teacher in the school. This alone saved parents nearly the cost of becoming a member to our PTA. In addition, we are proud to be able to put thousands of dollars into our classrooms including science equipment for all grades as well as physical education equipment for students to use during recess.

The PTA provides teachers with parent volunteers and helps build partnerships between parents and teachers. Through your support of PTA we are able to support our teachers by providing them with much needed classroom supplies for their students including subscriptions to Weekly Reader, TIME for Kids and other resources.

Every family that joins our PTA will receive a free Curtsinger Student Directory to help you and your children stay connected with our community throughout the year. And while we will include your child’s information at your request without your being a member, directories are only given to families who join. They are a great resource throughout the year. Information within the directory is with your authorization for release.

Please return the attached membership form and envelope to your child’s teacher or in the front office by Friday, September 9th. You may also download the form online at www.curtsingerpta.org.
